QUEEN ANNE ADU UPPER ADDITION

These clients owned a unique historic commercial building set in a Lower Queen Anne residential neighborhood. Their desire was to add a living unit (ADU) to the structure providing an inviting and modern living unit for themselves and future tenants. Collaboration with the clients and architect through the interior design phase allowed for territorial views and amazing light through the clerestory windows. Design and planning challenges abound on this project as we navigated non-conforming setbacks with the city; a hillside made of unstable sand; and retrofitting a historical structure to accommodate the new spaces.
