BLUE RIDGE LAUNDRY ROOM

This once-overlooked utility space, featuring open ceilings, exposed piping, and raw mechanical systems on full display, was transformed into a modern, refined laundry room designed to work as hard as the people who use it. Reworked ducting and venting were captured in drywall soffits, bringing a clean, finished feel to the ceiling plane and quietly cloaking the utility systems that once defined the room. New windows and an exterior door were added to draw natural light into the lower level, fundamentally shifting the atmosphere from utilitarian to inviting. Storage was designed around the specifics of daily life: dedicated cabinetry for dog food, thoughtfully organized laundry storage, and a removable cabinet that maintains code-compliant access to the electrical panel without compromising the room's polished aesthetic. Elevated finishes carry the design sensibility well beyond a typical utility space, making this laundry room feel like a deliberate and well-considered part of the home.
